Biography
Mike McPherson is an active member of the firm’s Healthcare, Regulatory Compliance, and Litigation Practice Groups. Mike is an accomplished attorney who brings more than 23 years of high-level litigation and health care experience to Parrett Porto. Prior to joining the firm, Mike served as Assistant General Counsel for United Urology Group, a management services organization for one of the largest networks of urology affiliate practices in the country. He also was a partner at two other prominent Connecticut law firms. Mike provides counsel and trial advocacy to clients on a broad range of issues, including health care law, medical malpractice litigation, privacy (e.g., HIPAA), contract negotiations, insurance coverage, compliance and regulatory matters (e.g., Stark and Anti-Kickback), licensure, reimbursement, and patient care issues. Appellate advocacy, complex legal research and analysis, and critical motions practice are also central to Mike’s practice.
Mike is admitted to practice in the Connecticut state and federal courts as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and the Supreme Court of the United States.
Mike earned his B.S. in Marketing from UConn and his J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law where he was Editor-in-Chief of the Quinnipiac Health Law Journal.
