Biography
Andrew I. Schaffer joined Parrett Porto Parese & Colwell in February 2021 and is currently a partner at the firm. Mr. Schaffer is a graduate of the University of Connecticut (BA 1988) and Quinnipiac University School of Law (JD 1994).
After practicing in most areas of the law, Mr. Schaffer now limits his practice to divorce and family law matters; representing individuals and children in the Superior Court, Juvenile Court, and Probate Courts throughout the State of Connecticut. Attorney Schaffer has been selected to Super Lawyers for 2011-2012, 2015-2022.
Mr. Schaffer has extensive experience representing divorce clients with high net worth, owners of real estate and businesses, custody and parenting issues. He handles all aspects of divorce and family law from preparing and reviewing pre-nuptial agreements, dissolutions, enforcement matters, and post-judgment modifications.
In addition to representing individuals in traditional “adversarial” matters, Mr. Schaffer has completed the necessary divorce mediation training. Mr. Schaffer conducts both traditional divorces as well as collaborative divorce mediations. For those individuals in mediation, Mr. Schaffer also acts as review counsel.
Mr. Schaffer is an active member of the legal community. He is a member of the CT Bar Association and New Haven County Bar Association where he is the co-chair of the Family Law Section. Mr. Schaffer serves as Special Master in dissolution matters in various Courts throughout the State of Connecticut, including New Haven and Milford.
Mr. Schaffer grew up in Woodbridge CT, and continues to reside there with his wife and two daughters.
