Biography


Katherine A. Dornelas is an associate in the firm whose practice focuses on family, probate, and juvenile matters.  She is known for her solution-oriented approach and for guiding clients through life’s challenging moments with clarity, compassion, and strong advocacy.  Attorney Dornelas has significant courtroom and negotiation experience, which enables her to advocate effectively for clients both in litigation and in resolving matters outside of court.

Prior to joining Parrett Porto, Attorney Dornelas worked in a general practice firm, practicing in the areas of family, juvenile, probate, and criminal law. Her general practice experience exposed her to a wide array of legal matters, which allows her to offer clients comprehensive guidance in cases where family, probate, criminal, and juvenile issues intersect.

Attorney Dornelas earned her Bachelor’s degree in psychology magna cum laude from Clark University. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Connecticut School of Law where she was an editor of the Connecticut Law Review and a member the Latino Law Students Association.

She is active in the legal community, having served on the executive board and as legislative liaison for the Child Welfare and Juvenile Law Section of the Connecticut Bar Association.

Outside of work, Attorney Dornelas enjoys reading and spending quality time with her husband and young children.
